Les Arcs Ski Print: Fine Art Giclée Print on Hahnemühle Bamboo 290gsm
A winter like no other.
During the COVID-19 confinements/lockdowns, French ski resorts remained closed. In the winter of 2020/21, having only just made it to the Alps before Christmas and just before the border was closed to the UK, I spent a surreal, beautiful and unique winter in the mountains.
Les Arcs, a resort typically alive with skiers, bustling restaurants, and vibrant energy, was completely deserted. Known for its stunning landscapes and exceptional on and off-piste skiing, seeing it so still and empty was an experience I will never forget.
In a small group, we ski toured from Arc 2000 up the Plan, a blue piste, to the Col des Frettes —a place you might recall if you’ve visited for its breathtaking view over the Tarentaise Valley.
This print captures the moment we skied back down. I had stopped on the lower piste and looked to my right just as Alf Alderson, a friend and renowned adventure travel writer, carved this perfect line through untouched snow.
It was a fleeting moment of beauty, one that I’m thrilled to have captured and now offer as a fine art print.
This print is meticulously crafted using Hahnemühle Bamboo paper, a premium, eco-friendly medium that enhances the natural tones and textures of the image. The high-quality finish ensures the print’s durability and vividness.
